Introducing the "Classic Film Chatter" Book Series & Streaming Channel

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of "Classic Film Chatter: Politics in Film," the first volume from Monde Cine Classique’s brand-new book series by award-winning filmmaker and historian John Mulholland. And that’s not all—Classic Film Chatter is expanding into an innovative streaming channel, bringing Hollywood’s greatest movies and conversations to life in a whole new way.

The Book Series: Conversations on Classic Cinema

Classic Film Chatter brings the lively and insightful discussions of Hollywood’s greatest films right to your fingertips. With the perfect blend of film historian expertise and the engaging style of a podcast, writer and filmmaker John Mulholland is your guide through spirited debates across various genres.

The first volume, "Politics in Film," (launching on Election Day) features Mulholland alongside Craig Gilbert and Meir Ribalow, unpacking what truly constitutes a political film in Hollywood and how the genre has evolved over more than a century. From Frank Capra’s Meet John Doe to Alexander Payne’s Election and John Frankenheimer’s The Manchurian Candidate, cinematic politics have taken on many forms. The crew also draws sharp insights from Citizen Kane, High Noon, The Candidate, In the Heat of the Night, and many more.

Each volume of the series—future topics include Westerns and Courtroom Dramas—is based on a live discussion with John and his guests, paired with film synopses and visuals to deepen the reading experience.
